About us
Dr. Jim Yates, Doctor of Chiropractic
Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I head
the team that provides Chiropractic and Acupuncture services to
the Auckland area. We have the largest, state of the art facilities
in all of New Zealand. My diverse training in the USA gives our
facilities a unique and broad based approach to diagnosing and treating
your problems.
I
was first introduced to chiropractic after injuring myself in the
gym in the mid-1980s. I already had a Bachelor of Science degree
so it wasnt long before I was enrolled in the chiropractic
program at Life Chiropractic College West in San Francisco. Four
years later I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Before
immigrating to New Zealand in 2004, I practiced in Northern California
for many years; covering the full gamut of healthcare from wellness
to headaches, back aches, non-surgical management of disc herniations,
whiplash/car accidents and various work-related injuries.
After leaving California I spent a year volunteering my services
at the Prince Williams Hospital in Vaavau, Tonga. While there I
was given the opportunity to assist in over 60 major surgeries and
perform hundreds of procedures in addition to the Chiropractic services
I provided to the Tongans. This has given me a unique perspective
to health care that few Chiropractors have been able to obtain.
Having fallen in love with New Zealand, I am now a citizen living
in Parnell. For three years, I was full time faculty member of the
New Zealand College of Chiropractic.
Since I hold the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE)
qualification in Physiotherapy in the USA, I use a combination of
soft tissue work, massage, heat, ice, stretching, gentle specific
chiropractic spinal adjustments, exercise programs, Spinal Decompression
Therapy both Flexion Distraction and Inversion Therapy & TENS
(Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation). We also refer as
necessary to other health care providers to get the best results
possible given your personal situation.
Dr. Gary Blythe, Chiropractor
Dr Gary was first introduced to chiropractic at age 13 for relief
of headaches. After a successful career in computers working with
many hospitals and private corporations and seeing the health problems
people faced, his interests transferred to health and longevity.
From the early 90's his chiropractic journey has continued working
in Melbourne, Gold Coast, through to today working in Auckland for
the biggest chiropractic group in New Zealand, heading up the Botany
office to deliver fantastic results for families and the community.
Dr Gary specializes in finding the source of the problem, designing
correctional care programs based on rehabilitation to optimal outcome,
with over 20 years experience in the industry and excellent results
he can help you achieve the highest quality of health and wellbeing.
Young Won Kim (Sky), Registered Acupuncturist (NZRA), ACC Provider
I received my BSc in Acupuncture and TCM from the New Zealand College
of Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture is a traditional treatment method
that was refined through thousands of years. Traditional chinese
Medicine is aimed to deal with pain and health issues that occur
in the human body due to disharmony. My goal is to help people get
rid of the pain and discomfort by restoring the balance of the internal
and external factors in the human body.
Dr. Chris Kim, Chiropractor
I moved from South Korea to New Zealand at the age of 11, during
my teenage years, I suffered from chronic back pain particularly
while studying. While the medical doctors could not solve the problem,
I was introduced to chiropractic by a family friend. Through chiropractic
care as well as making lifestyle changes my health recovered greatly,
even while representing Macleans College in National Weightlifting
Tournaments.
Ever since I have been fascinated by the benefits of long term
chiropractic care, the body's wellbeing and healing ability, and
delivery to the public health care system, which look after my community.
After finishing my Health Science Degree, majoring in Public Health
at Auckland University. I felt the best way to serve my family,
friends and community was in Chiropractic care. So I went on and
completed the 5 year degree which included a two year internship
at the World Renowned New Zealand College of Chiropractic.
Today I have joined the largest Chiropractic group in New Zealand
working primarily in the Botany office of Auckland Chiropractors
& Acupuncturists. I look forward to serving and helping the
people in the eastern suburbs where I live and grew up, by providing
the highest quality chiropractic care.
Sinchurl Youn (Sean), Registered Acupuncturist (NZRA), ACC Provider
Before imigrating to New Zealand 2002, I had various educational background and work experience in Korea. But I have grown up in oriental culture and it was quite natural interest about Chinese Medicine in my life. My son suffered from several diseases from when he was born and it drove me to study health science.
I received Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture from the New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine in 2012 and I have been enjoyed working as an acupuncturist since then.
I am passionate about helping others and communicating the wisdom with them and also I love to share my life experiences.
